Based on a vintage design taken from the Ceramiche Bagni archive the Aba-8 madras vase has been reinterpreted by the the Nuove Forme team  and is now offered in a new exciting colour combination. The vase is crafted by applying a vertical embossing technique which uses a special  hand-made comb-like tool and then decorated by hand using the hot wax resist, an ancient technique which enables the craftsman to achieve extraordinary precision when setting a pattern. Finally the ceramic surface is ‘filled’ by hand with coloured glazes following a pre-set sequence, before a cold black patina is applied to seal off the surface of the vase and enhance the extraordinary colourful pattern.
